"Death Yoga was a reflective and calming experience. Jenna and Emma helped me to connect inwardly and mindfully reflect on death, dying, and living through an interactive yoga flow. I felt supported, welcome, and connected as the group and I explored a topic that I don't think about on a daily basis and that can be scary to broach on your own. I highly recommend it as an addition to any yoga practice - I left feeling light and grateful!" - Emily M.
Death can seem dark, morbid—even like the wrong vibe for a Friday night. But at this special gathering, we turn toward the very thing most of us spend our lives avoiding. Why? Because when we meet death with presence, it reveals something profound. Death, when welcomed as a teacher rather than resisted or ignored, becomes a portal to deeper gratitude and embodied aliveness. A brush with death often brings people back to life—but you don’t have to nearly die to wake up. You can simply listen.
At Friday Night Death Yoga, we move, rest, and reflect our way into the mystery of impermanence.
The evening includes:
- Opening meditation + intention setting
- Embodied slow flow yoga practice
- Death meditation in savasana with sound bath
- Closing circle + community connection
What people are saying about Friday Night Death Yoga:
"Death Yoga with Jenna and Emma was a really transformative experience for me. I've never felt all that comfortable thinking about death, but as soon as the session started, I was able to find peace listening to Emma's comforting voice and remembering my loved ones who have gone before me. Oddly enough, it was a truly grounding experience to enter that safe reflection with a dozen strangers. And pairing that powerful exploration with Jenna's guided vinyasa flow helped bring me back to the present and focus on being alive in my body. It was an unexpected yet beautiful way to blend life and death together in an experience that I won't forget." - Aaron S.
“I don’t know what I expected from the Death Yoga session, but I was surely mistaken. Between the guided meditation that created space for contemplating death and the yoga practice that grounded me in my body, I left the session feeling uplifted and profoundly alive. The instructors were lovely, and they created a space where it was safe to confront the realities of life and death without the doom and gloom you might expect. I’d highly recommend this experience to anyone and am looking forward to diving back into it myself.” - Mitchell C.
"My experience at death yoga was deeply reflective. Emma & Jenna co-created a container that allowed each student to integrate deep emotion around the impermanence of life. The class I went to was a fusion of guided meditation, yoga, breath and community. These pillars of the practice held us all as we contemplated death and impermanence. I left feeling more free and at ease with the constant change in my life." - Brittany R.
